Difference between Promoted Properties and Distinguish Field

The primary difference between promoted properties and Distinguish field is that promoted properties can be used for routing, correlation, Tracking message and also access these properties inside the orchestration and other artifacts but distinguish field accessed only inside the orchestration. Other difference is Distinguish filed has no character limit but promoted data is limited to 255 characters.

So, the rule here is, if you don’t want the schema element to  appear in send  port filters/ debugging information then  make it as Distinguish  filed.
